James Smyle,
MBA, MS, Chief Executive Officer
James came to see the importance of patient advocacy while dealing with
a family member's failing health. His vision is the driving force behind
MY NURSE FIRST. James holds multiple undergraduate degrees,
including a Bachelor of Arts in Business Law, an Associate of Arts
in Paramedic Science, and advanced degrees including a Master of
Business Administration and Management and a Master of Psychology. His current studies will
complete a Doctorate of Sciences in Cognitive Studies.
James is our business insider, with extensive knowledge of the financial
side of healthcare. He has served as Vice President and Chief Operations
Officer for Duncan Medical Technologies, a company providing
telemedicine capabilities for the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and as
President of Duncan Technologies, a technical consulting firm providing
medical software and
technical security services to healthcare industries. He has served on
the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Frederick County,
as the Medical Officer for a non-profit Search and Rescue Group, and is a member in good standing with the Society for Healthcare
Consumer Advocacy, the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy
Consultants, and the National Patient Advocate Foundation.

Blake Smyle RN,
CEN, Chief Clinical Officer
The focus of Blake's practice has been in critical care nursing: in
fast-paced Emergency Departments and Intensive Care. She has meticulous
attention to detail and a keen eye toward procedure and order. Blake has
worked in a wide range of trauma settings and now leads our clinical
team with expert clinical and managerial experience. Blake’s team
building perspective and all-hands collaboration style brings together
the many pieces that make up your health care team, under a watchful and
objective eye. Blake is currently finishing requirements to complete a
Master of Science in Nursing Education, and also serves as a Forensic
Investigator with the State of Maryland Office of the Chief Medical
Examiner.

Jim M. Recabo, RN, BSN, Chief Nursing
Officer
Jim worked from being a clinical RN, to teambuilding as a Charge Nurse
overseeing the second busiest Emergency Department in the Washington DC
area (over 230 visits per day with a staff of 140 doctors, nurses and
support staff), then seeing to the needs of the entire hospital as
Administrative Nursing Supervisor. Leading emergency and trauma teams,
he has decreased wait times through innovative triage systems, improved
patient outcomes and increased patient satisfaction (as measured by
Press-Ganey Scores).
Jim has taken the next generation of nurses under his wing, and in this
era of alarming nursing shortages, teaches them to work smarter.
He now
mentors and directs our team of dedicated nursing professionals. Jim
holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with a minor in Biology
(2001) from George Mason University.
